HO Scale Parker Subdivision Layout Photo Gallery

Below are photos of of the 24' x 12' Parker Subdivision Layout. This is a layout that was actually inspired by Pelle Søeborg's super modeling skills that are demonstrated in his book "Mountain to Desert". His capturing of the town scene of Mojave California was something I wanted to have on my own layout so I used his setting as a template and tried to evoke the same realism on my layout using my own scratchbuilt structures. The result is presented below. This layout was offered up for sale and was sold and moved to a customer in California. Enjoy the photos.

My fictitious town of Parker, Utah looking from south to north along the west wall.

The town of Parker from north to south.

Northwest corner of layout 27" minimum radii double track mainline done with Atlas code 83 flex on cork.

Northeast corner of layout featuring I-15 overpass over the tracks entering the yard.

Parker Yard...UP's busy little yard along the east wall from the north. The yard featured 4 tracks to hold at a rough minimum: 2 locos plus ten car trains or two locos plus nine 89' cars (autoracks). It also had a runaround track to shunt locos and also access an intermodal/flatcar unloading area and petroleum spur.

Parker Yard from the south looking north. Trinity Steel Products is the large gray buildings in the background.

Parker Yard Locomotive fueling and general railroad maintenance shops.

Lumber facility along the south end of the layout.

The southwestern corner of the layout.

Out of service grain service facility. Rails were pulled up when the company went "belly up" and nobody stepped up to put it back to work.

Thanks for looking!
