This
view is from the southwest corner of the layout. The benchwork was designed with
removable legs and control shelf for ease of transport or storage.

View
from the northwest corner. A simple and clean design that worked within the
customers budget.

Staying
within budget was important so built-up structures from Woodland Scenic's,
Walther's, Atlas, Model Power and Train Cat - just to name a few - were used.

Poco
Grande's main street looking north to south across the layout.

Walther's
Sunrise Feed Mill occupied the southwest corner of the Poco Grande's
intersection.
 Poco
Grande's business district was a collection of 3 Woodland Scenic's built-up
structures.

This
photo was to highlight the chain link fence behind the McDonalds for the
customers weekly update. It brings a few items to mind to point out. The
McDonalds is actually a Christmas tree ornament that is of excellent N scale
size. It was modified quite a bit from it's out of the box version to fit this
corner and some roof top paper and details added...interior lighting was also
added. Note that no crossing gates had been added when this photo was taken.
 This
photo is of the Walther's Refinery. This and the 2 track Train Cat loading
platform were the only 2 kit's I had to build for the layout. The refinery
received some strategically placed lighting and 2 flashing red beacons on the
stacks. Although both beacons were captured here in this photo on together, they
did pulse on and off at different rates.

A night shot looking across the
layout from east to west.

The
refinery was a cool facility. The refinery was Walther's, the tank and loading
platform between the tracks in from Train Cat. A few additional details set of
the scene nicely.

Main
Street Poco Grande...Originally the layout was spec'd out for these Model Power
traffic lights...nice little light, but not exactly too scale looking. My
customer made a decision to upgrade the traffic light to Berkshire Junctions
Traffic Light set with 4 corner units and the center intersection hanging light.
Also we installed the traffic light timing circuit board and that really
improved the look of the intersection. For some reason I cannot find a photo of
them installed, but you can see them installed and working in the video gallery.

This
photo is of the the Walther's Art Deco Underpass, Monroe Models Cut Stone Arch
Bridge and Custom carved and molded 2 track tunnel portals. With N Scale track
centers of 1-1/2" I could not find tunnel portals over-the-counter to
handle a double track mainline that allowed enough clearance to handle...if the
customer ever wanted to run...89' auto racks and intermodal stack trains. The
track curves are also super elevated requiring some additional clearance on the
inside wall of the portal.

SD-40-2
ATSF 5058 awaits its next assignment while a UP DD40AX gets some servicing done
at the Poco Grande shops.
